Welcome to the first Bank House blog!
I can't believe it's been nearly 4 years since we bought our beautiful house in the Peaks and our 2nd year anniversary of letting the house as a holiday rental.
To give you a brief history of how this all came to be, the house came to our attention after we had attended a wedding in the area, thought it was lovely and started looking at property via the internet (as you do). While most people would stop there, we didn't! So even though it was a crazy idea - we still had full-time jobs and had spent our whole lives living in Hertfordshire, we decided it was an opportunity we simply didn't want to miss, sold our house and took the plunge. We had hoped in the beginning to up sticks completely but ties to work and other commitments conspired to mean we had to put our long-term plans on hold for much longer than we hoped.
Having spent the first two years living at the house, getting to know the area and everything it had to offer, we realised it would make the perfect holiday home for family reunions and friends’ gatherings. We so enjoyed our own family and friends visiting and found the house so easy to entertain our guests. The spacious communal space in the dining kitchen area is great for gathering together, while the other living areas mean you never feel on top of each other. Because we have lived at the house, (and still do when the house is free) we have also made sure it is really well equipped and comfortable, just as we would like it.
After 2 years, we have been thrilled with the response to the house from our guests so far and we are now the proud recipients of a four-star gold award from Visit England, as well as becoming an addition to the Sawdays collection of special places to stay.
I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all our guests that have visited over the last two years and left such lovely comments in our Visitor's book. We really appreciate the feedback and we are so pleased the house has been full of happy people enjoying themselves.
Best wishes for now
